Bible study, a lesson to learn

For my brother Raymond:

Book of Hebrews.

Basically, the message I captured from the verses were about Faithfulness, Spiritual growth, and plenty of reminders. When I read the first few chapters this verse came into my mind-“For all have fallen short of the glory of God” because of disobedience towards of God. Even I have sinned against Him. I had wondered before, how can I prevent this from happening. The answer came to me in bible study- Growth.
I had this in mind when I started reading Hebrews. Many verses were like reminders to me. As I came upon chapter 5, I learnt that not only must I remain faithful, I need to grow in my faith as well in order for me to be able to help others, to be “teachers”. I’m reminded again and again as I read chapter 6 and 11 to seek Him diligently and have faith that in whatever circumstances I encounter, that He will come through for me.
Chapter 12, the verse that struck me the most was verse 6 and 11. Chastening is important in growth. True as it says in verse 11- “Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it”. If I am not corrected, how am I to improve?
When I am willing to grow, God provides the circumstances for me to grow; that is, when I’m willing to accept Him and have faith that He will indeed aid and guide me. Even when I accept His guidance and wisdom, I cannot be all talk because Faith alone can’t do anything (faith without works is dead). And when I am striving I must prevail and remain constant, as what you taught us last Sunday). I know, there are times that I will feel tired when I’m being stretched. Still, the bible reminds me to persevere and have patience- that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
From this realization, bro, I have a prayer need. I want to be walking the talk, constantly improving myself and grow spiritually. I still have a lot to learn from you and others as well. I pray, that as I grow I will gain wisdom to apply it in due season and bless my friends and family.
“Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be profitable for you. Heb. 3:17”. Really, when I chose this course, I didn’t know why I decided to come to UTAR. I have come to understand it is God’s incidence as it is His doing for me to have you as a leader to teach me.

Thanks for everything.

Growing in Faith,

Meaning of the meaningless life..

When time is not a commodity;
When all achievements yearned,
Were without its works.
When free will restricts itself;
When the mind makes a limit,
With what the eyes see.
When wise words of the wise,
Are just words to the fools,
Then all else are meaningless.

When there’s one life to live,
Don't waste it away.
When there’s one life to love,
Don't hate it away.
When there’s one mind to see,
See it all.
When there’s one dream to have,
Realize it.

Remember,
You're alive.. do as breathing people do.
Grow, as the wise people do.
Live, as all others do.

When the mind is the limit,
Change it.
When the eyes see the horizon,
Walk towards it.
When the hands reach thus far,
Lean towards it.
When others discourage you,
Walk further than they expect.
When all seem meaningless,
It has yet to be deciphered.

As free will is free choice,
and freedom is by choice.

Choose wisely.
